La Santa partners with the NGO Galgos 112
La Santa has always been a fully pet-friendly space, where pets are more than welcome, and in fact, they live it up in every corner of the Santa Cristina Horse Club. This love for animals shared by the entire team at La Santa translates to a very special commitment for this summer of 2021: collaboration with the NGO Galgos 112, which will have a space at the Santa Cristina Horse Club every Saturday throughout summer, where it will be able to sell all kinds of dog accessories in order to raise funds to support greyhounds and warren hounds, traditionally exploited for hunting and racing.
Galgos 112, a non-profit association founded in Sant Feliu de Guíxols in 2008, has worked with volunteers with the aim of rescuing and recovering greyhounds and warren hounds to be donated as pets. It has also conducted education and awareness programmes on the situation of these breeds throughout the Iberian Peninsula and collaborated with public administrations to correctly apply animal protection laws and to develop new, more respectful laws.
The association has upwards of 100 volunteers throughout Spain, some of whom will be at La Santa every Saturday throughout summer to inform visitors about the work of Galgos 112. The organisation also plans to put on a greyhound walk in front of the stand on dates yet to be confirmed.
